Community Programs

One Point 618 educational programs are designed to evoke the imagination and to create collaborative original dance experiences. Educational programs accompany all performance seasons produced by the company. One Point 618 offers workshops and performances in schools, festivals and events. The company offers professional development for teachers, residencies in schools and communities, holiday programs and lecture demonstrations.

The company opens creative opportunities for young people and adults by highlighting career pathways for Australian dancers and giving young people more access to dance.

CURRENT AND PAST PROGRAMS:

INVOLUNTARY - Audience Development/Flash Mob Program

INVOLUNTARY - Flash Mob Choreography 2014 from Katrina Lazaroff One Point 618 on Vimeo.

INVOLUNTARY will be touring to Regional Victoria in August 2014 and Artistic Director Katrina Lazaroff has recently returned from a trip to Victoria where she led a series of pre-tour INVOLUNTARY Flash Mob rehearsals in Portland, Hamilton, Wangarratta and Shepparton. This exciting project will be continued in the coming months!

Attention: Flash Mob Participants

Hi there! Katrina Lazaroff here!

Please watch and rehearse the Flash Mob material you see on the video above.

There are two parts to this video. The first phrase is the material I taught recently on my visit to your town. The second phrase is a simpler piece of choreography that I ask all participants to learn.

Rehearse on your own or in groups over the coming months.

The performing arts venue in your town will contact you regarding a group Flash Mob Rehearsal in July before the INVOLUNTARY season in August. This rehearsal will be in the foyer of the theatre. Hopefully I can be present at this rehearsal via Skype but that will depend on each particular circumstance.

The final step will be for me to run a 2-hour rehearsal at each venue in the theatre foyer the evening before the INVOLUNTARY  performance. Every community member who wishes to be involved in the Flash Mob will need to attend this session. During this rehearsal, I will co-ordinate/choreograph how the Flash Mob will be performed.

See the following dates for the final Flash Mob rehearsal and performance. This 2 -hour rehearsal will be either 4pm - 6pm or 5.30pm - 7.30pm.  It may be a good idea to pencil this in now.
